KCARE State Training for Activity Director Virtual August 2026
August 4, 2026 - August 31, 2026. Can't bear to have your staff miss work for a week of training? Cost of hotel, food and trip expenses worrying you in these economic times? KCARE, in partnership with WeCareOnline, offers the perfect solution in this four-week course offered 100% online. During the allotted time of 30 days, participants will learn how to identify the activity needs of residents as well as design programs to maintain and/or increase the residents’ capability of activities in daily living.
This course is not affiliated with Bluegrass Activities Director Leadership Academy or participating in the CMP approved funds.
The
attendee can complete the course in four weeks as the courses are
available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They consist of four units
which covers person-centered care, the aging process, cognitive issues,
and psychosocial needs. Upon
successful completion of the course, attendees will have met the
Kentucky State requirements to be an Activity Director in a long term
care setting and will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the
Kentucky Coalition for Aging Resources and Empowerment (KCARE). The Kentucky
Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has approved the KCARE online

ONLINE WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS:
- Computer & Internet Access
- Valid Email Address, which MUST be unique to the individual student - do not use the facility administrator's email
- Course fees must be paid in full prior to enrollment

- KCARE Member - $360 per person* -- MUST SIGN IN TO YOUR MEMBER ACCOUNT
- Non-Member - $560 per person
Course fees MUST be paid in full no later than the day the course begins in order for the registered student to be enrolled in the course.

TERMS OF AGREEMENT:
I have basic knowledge in computer usage. I understand, if I have computer difficulties, the help section in the Blackboard is available. If I need help with the content of the course, my instructor will be available via email or phone number that has been supplied in the syllabus. I agree to be responsible for my own work and understand that there will be weekly assignments due.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Upon successful completion, attendees will have met the Kentucky State requirements to be an Activity Director in a long term care setting and will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the Kentucky Coalition for Aging Resources & Empowerment (KCARE). Directions will be sent out following the completion of the training to print off certificate. The online syllabus has been approved by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Office of Inspector General.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to a[email protected]. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than seven days prior to the start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between the seven days of the start date refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KCARE office.
